On day four we traveled to Sintra, a small mountain town west of Lisbon with castles, monasteries and palaces but instead we chose a place called Quinta da Regaleira, a mansion coated in occult imagery. Its former owner Carvalho Monteiro was a freemason interested in conspiracy theories, a reflection of these fascinations can be found all over the place.
One of the weirdest things there was an inverted well spiralling into the ground called Initiation Well… It was never used for storing water but instead for the Masonic and Templar ceremonies 🤯
Italian Architect, Luigi Manini executed the vision for the Quinta da Regaleira which have been labeled by many the most fairytale place to visit on the face of the earth…
