I discovered Grimes in early 2012 when she wasn’t that popular yet and I listened to her so much that it became the soundtrack to my life. Those times were so strongly associated with this music that I couldn’t listen to it for the next 3 years.. Until now. Last month I was at her sold out concert at the iconic Brixton Academy (I saw NIN there for the first time exactly 9 years ago). Despite the huge expectations accumulated over the years, I was pleasantly surprised by music that was entirely different but just as good as before.
